I was lucky enough to pick up this project from a friend of mine with lots of goodies to boot. Things like an Edelbrock tunnel ram, vintage Pro Stock valve covers, and a 406 stroker helped to set the foundation for what’s going to be a late 70’s style Street Freak!
To me those were some of the best times. Performance parts stores were cool, vans were cool, and crazy paint was cool. This is the direction it’s headed… (Marker and airbrush)
In high school my friend had a Ranchero which I did a little airbrushing on. We cruised that thing for the summer, road in the back, and made plans for it’s future. He eventually painted it Midnight Blue and did some minor motor work, but I moved away before I got to help him. This is how I would have done it, or maybe if the price is right when I stumble across one…
I was inspired by Deep Purple’s Highway Star. I could imagine this thing barreling down the highway, windows too dark to see who or what’s inside, and a loud big block Ford screaming away! (Digital painting)
